lotus children’s library

910 MAINLAND ST, VANCOUVER | 5,277 SF | INSTITUITIONAL DESIGN

concept

The concept of this project is the miraculous beauty of  lotus flower that has roots starting out in deep mud, it submerges every night into river water and miraculously re-blooms the next morning, sparklingly clean. The lotus flower has been associated with divinity and purity, which is a representation of how divine and pure children can be.

The designer of this project has decided to incorporate elements of lotus by using colors of Blue, Pink, White and yellow. Each lotus color represents a meaning; blue represents the spirit taking over the senses, pink represents perfection, white represents purity of mind and yellow represents enlightenment.
